Beam Pop

Privacy policy

Effective 22 October 2026 ยท Applies to the Beam Pop game for Android and iOS

In short

Who we are

Beam Pop is made by Bradley Blake, based in the United Kingdom. We are the data controller for the information described here. Contact us at games@bradblake.co.uk.

What the game stores on your device

Your level progress, stars, coins, hints, purchased items, settings and play statistics are saved on your phone. On iPhone, if iCloud is turned on, a copy is also kept in your own iCloud account so your progress can move to a new device. This copy is stored by Apple and we can't see it. Your progress is never sent to us. Deleting the app, or choosing Reset progress in Settings, removes it from your phone.

Reminders

If you turn on the daily reminder, the reminder is scheduled on your phone by the game itself. No server is involved and nothing is sent to us. You can turn reminders off in the game's Settings or in your phone's Settings app.

Advertising

Beam Pop shows video ads, some of which you choose to watch for a reward. Ads are served by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, and to prevent fraud, Google may collect:

If you are in the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland, the game asks for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using Google's consent form. You can change your choice at any time in Settings > Ad privacy settings. On iPhone, you can also allow or block tracking in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. If you decline, you may still see non-personalised ads. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your phone's settings.

Google's use of this data is covered by Google's Privacy Policy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services.

Leaderboards (Game Center)

On iPhone, if you are signed in to Apple Game Center, the game sends your daily puzzle points, your weekly total, your total stars and the achievements you unlock to Game Center, and shows leaderboards that include your Game Center nickname. This is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. We don't receive your Apple ID. You can sign out of Game Center, or hide your profile, in your iPhone's Settings app.

Challenge links

When you tap Challenge a friend, the game makes a link containing the level or daily puzzle number, your number of taps, your chain length, whether you used a hint, and the name you typed or your Game Center nickname. Only the people you choose to send it to get the link. Opening it shows a web page on gamesbradblake.github.io, hosted by GitHub, which may log your IP address as any website does. The challenge details stay in the part of the link that is never sent to the server.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple's App Store. They handle your payment details. We receive confirmation that a purchase happened so the game can unlock the item, but not your card or billing details.

Legal basis

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR we rely on your consent for personalised advertising, and on our legitimate interest in funding a free game for non-personalised ads, fraud prevention and keeping the game working.

Children

Beam Pop is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the game, contact us and we will help remove it.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, or object to how it is used. Because progress is stored only on your device, we usually hold no data about you ourselves. For data held by Google, use Google's privacy controls. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
